Integration
MCP connection
FAQai exposes its document and dataset API as MCP tools. Connecting a client does not publish your account to other people, and it does not host your vector database.
Remote server
The remote endpoint is https://faqai.app/api/mcp. It uses OAuth and lists 17 tools. It does not include upload_document, because that tool reads a file on the machine running the server. API access, including this endpoint, requires Basic, Starter, or Pro. The Free plan cannot call it.
Local stdio package
The @faqai/mcp-server package runs on your machine and exposes 18 tools. The extra tool is upload_document, which uploads a local PDF, DOCX, TXT, or Markdown file. You pass an API key from the signed-in Developers area at /developers/api-keys. That page is private. A signed-out visit goes to login.
What the tools can do
Both transports can list documents, read status, ingest an authorised public URL, process or cancel a document, list and export datasets, and read usage. Webhook tools exist, and creating a webhook requires Pro. Deleting a document requires an explicit confirmation flag in the tool call.
n8n, Make, and similar products are not built-in connectors. They can call the REST API or receive a Pro webhook. The API reference is /docs/api.
